Safe where you live

A comfortable and safe home is the foundation of a good life. We need to take care of our home and of common spaces inside and outside the building.
You must show consideration
When you live in a multi-apartment building, there are many opportunities for community and well-being. We must respect each other and show consideration.
This means, for example, that you
- take care of your home
- help keep the building and its surroundings clean
- not play loud music or talk loudly in the evenings and at night
- are responsible for ensuring that you or people visiting you do not cause any damage.
Our rules of conduct show some examples of how you can show consideration for your neighbors.

You need home insurance
You must have home insurance when you live with SHIS. Take out home insurance before you move into your apartment.
Home insurance is a security measure and is important so that you do not have to pay a lot of money if, for example, there is a fire or serious water damage in your apartment or at one of your neighbors. If you do not have home insurance, you will have to pay everything yourself if an accident occurs.
Report a fault if something is broken
It is important that you make a fault report if something in your home is damaged or not working properly. Let SHIS staff know and they will help you make a fault report.
When it is an emergency
If the damage is acute, for example if there is a risk of water damage or fire, you should immediately contact the staff in the building.
If the reception is closed, you should call the SHIS security team on
070 - 771 72 67. Give your address to the switchboard and you will speak to the right person.
You may not leave things in the stairwell
It is not allowed to put or store things in the stairwell. It is a fire hazard and makes it more difficult for you and your neighbors to get out quickly if there is a fire. In addition, nothing should get in the way of the emergency services.
You must also have a smoke alarm in your apartment.

Pets and pets
Our apartments are often small and not suitable for pets. We have found that it is easier to find your own accommodation if you do not have pets.
Sometimes there may be special reasons for the accommodation to allow you to have pets. Talk to SHIS staff. We always make an individual assessment.
You are responsible for ensuring that your pet does not disturb or damage anything. You must also have a plan for who will take care of the pet when you are working or if you are ill.
